What to do when a yacht ride goes wrong

posted on 19 May 2013 in Computers

Yachts are personal items that, just like cars can be driven around but in the water. It is not as simple to navigate in the waters as it is on the roads because out in the water there are no street signs or clear paths as to where directions lead. While on a yacht ride if unfortunately you get lost, fear not because you can radio call the station on the shore for rescue. Assuming that you are an experienced sailor, you can opt to be given directions via the radio phone and drive yourself back home. Since the ride will probably be long, the station on shore will disconnect you and www.lookupnumber.co.uk of your radio phone to pin point your location. They will then contact you using the same device and begin to direct you on your way home. Directions aren't again like street signs but coordinates on the compass and directions of the wind on how you should use the tides to your advantage to get home. It shouldn't be a scary event at all with the radio guidance.

When is the Taxes on Your Car Due and How Can You Pay Them

posted on 16 May 2013 in Cars and Transport

Each year you have to renew the license on your car in three months you will receive a bill to pay your taxes. On the bill you'll have a due date and usually this is upon receipt of the bill. Being your car tax helps to build new roads and repair the older ones and without your payment and you will be left with a lot of plot holes. Now with Internet most tax bills can be paid online by credit card to make it easier to go ahead and dispose of the bill. The taxes are assessed by the age of car, the mileage and value usually the value is assessed through depreciation. Without the new license on your car you can be restricted from driving your car on a highway and the longer you wait to pay or is also interest added each month which makes your bill higher. If you don't have your car license for some reason or other than the bill is assessed during property tax time in which it comes to you by the end of January.

My Friend Weena Got a Kindle from Her Aunt

posted on 12 May 2013 in Computers

My friend Weena has been dying to get her hands on a Kindle ever since she saw one at Amazon. The only problem is that she has no credit card to buy the device. I would always see her go back to that Amazon site and admire the Kindle from the different sellers online. One day, her aunt surprised here when she went to see her. She gave her a Kindle and she was so happy that she even went to bed with the device. When I heard this news, I was so happy that she finally got the Kindle that shes wanted to buy all year round. Then she asked me how to connect kindle 2 to computer. I got speechless there for a moment since I do not know the answer to it. I told her to go online and search for the information. We started playing with the device and I can say that it is really a cool device. My friends into reading books and she finds owning a Kindle very useful in catching up with her readings.

The Things That Parents Should Make Sure Have Happened

posted on 24 April 2013 in Uncategorised

When parents are buying things for their children, they should also consider themselves too. If they are buying clothes for their children, they should be buying some clothes for them too. It is their parents rights to give themselves good things just like they are giving these good things to their children. Parents should however think about their children first before they think of themselves. Every good parent thinks of the comfort of their children before they even think of their comfort. They will deny themselves things they love and give their children what they want. If the children are comfortable, the parents are also comfortable. A parent will do anything for their children just to make happy. Children will always turn to their parents for support and all other needs that they have. It is fair for the parent to suffer rather than their children. When parents bring children to this world, they ensure that they have done everything to make them comfortable. They will work very hard to make their children as happy as possible.

Raising donations through the phone funding campaigns

posted on 15 April 2013 in Uncategorised

The year that has passed has been a dramatic one for my people and from it I learnt the concept of using phone funding campaigns. When I first saw these campaigns I couldn't believe that they would work but surprisingly they did. Donations would be announced on television and on www.howdoifindwhocalledme.com and persons who were touched would send their donations to phone numbers provided on media and if possible others would use online transfers to send their funds. It was so effective this method because it reached 96% of the country's population and the respondents were over 90% which is a turnout that would have been impossible to raise if television only was used. From that one successful campaign, other donations for various causes were put initiated and they too made great success. Interestingly you will never find respondents being angry when donations are raised through their phones as much as they get angry when marketers nag them. Everyone becomes so open to assisting that they call and SMS their loved ones to join in the giving and hence the very large amounts of money raised in this way.

My Last Renovation And Insulation Improvment

posted on 12 April 2013 in Home and Garden

Two years ago I renovated one of the rooms of my flat, including floor acoustic insulation as the neighbours were complaining about the floor noise we'd make. I also decided that while everything in the room is a mess, it is a good idea to change the windows. My main goal was to increase the sound insulation. That particular room is located right next to the most frequent streets in the town. The noise is unbearable and only solution to be somewhat calmer in the room is to keep the windows closed. The old windows were wooden double glass windows. They were loose and weak in keeping the sound and cold/warm temperatures out, reducing our reliance on our designer radiators. I decided to install one of the more expensive models with plastic alloy frames and thicker double glass. The change is noticeable, but still not what I expected. I should have probable chose the windows with three glasses and some type of gas between them. They also had more compartments in the frame – seven compared to my current five.

Self-building My Own Home for Family and Loved Ones

posted on 11 April 2013 in Home and Garden

The home that I would build if I had an unlimited budget would be wonderful. Generally I would choose to set it in a city landscape. Several large bedrooms upstairs as well as each bedroom having it's own bathroom. I'd control every aspect of the design - even down to the slightest of details, such as the wall handrails on the stairs. The design would be modern and slick, yet warm and inviting. A mix of modern and classical decorations. The bathrooms would all have wonderful tile. The kitchen would use stainless steel and natural woods. The floor plan would be open with doorways much larger than your typical home design. The exterior would have lots of space for outdoor use. Decks on the back and a large porch with a swing and maybe a telescope for viewing the stars at night. I love browsing home improvement websites to really whet my appetite and inspire me on my self-building dreams. All I need is the money - perhaps the most difficult aspect of a self-build!

DIY and an Expression of Good Living

posted on 8 April 2013 in Construction and Industrial

I work for a firm that offers velcro tape for sale, so DIY is now second nature to me. Given time, I would like to change many things about my house - here is my hefty and challenging "to do" list! First off, I'd like to change the flooring of my house, and I would like to make it a wooden laminate, as that type of floor does not need maintenance. I need a puja space which is designed to be on the landing of the staircase. I need a living area with a sofa on the landing of the staircase. I need to have a work area next to my kitchen so I need to have a separate room near the store room. I need to extend the space in the store room and build a wall in between so that I can have two rooms. I need to have a pantry in the kitchen which is very useful in kitchen. I need a showcase partition from kitchen to dinning room so that it will look more spacious. I need a shed for keeping the unwanted things and old things near to the kitchen door and a servants bathroom near the shed so that servants and outsiders in case of emergency can use it.

When Paul and Sarah Finally became a Couple

posted on 5 April 2013 in Uncategorised

When Paul and Sarah became a couple, I was one of the happiest for them. I knew they were so in love with each other back even then. However, they had to wait until the two of them finished college before they got into a relationship. They wanted to be truthful to the promise they have made to their families that they won't let anything distract them from their studies. So when they finally got their college diplomas, the two went on with their plans. After making their relationship official, Paul and Sarah became much happier. Yesterday, I heard Sarah asking Paul, how can I find who called me? Paul looked at her suspiciously before he replied, I hope this is not another suitor, Sarah. Sarah laughed as she heard Paul's remark. She has always known Paul to be the jealous type. So she said, Come on, Paul. For your peace of mind, I am not entertaining other guys. Why would I? I already have you and I want no one else but you. It was enough to put Paul back in good mood.

Take some time out to avoid worry

posted on 2 April 2013 in Technology

Nobody wants to wait patiently for a reply when they have sent a really sensitive email, only for the response to delay. At that time, there are many things passing through the mind of the sender. What if the email went to the wrong recipient? What if the response will not be what I am expecting? The worst thing that can happen is when you have a bt email contact whose address has a problem with large downloads. Now you are left wondering whether they got the whole email or if they were unable to open what you sent. At times, the frustration of waiting for a reply can make someone really clumsy. You cannot think of anything else to do when you are preoccupied by the email you sent. Some people are known to keep calling the recipient in the hopes that they can make them give an answer as soon as possible. What they don't know is that pressure will only make for a hurried response which may not be the correct one.

Hiking and Climbing at Unexpected Heights

posted on 29 March 2013 in Construction and Industrial

A year or two ago my boyfriend at the time and I were traveling around while I was visiting in Oregon with my parents. When we had gone to Mt. Hood to go hiking I got really close to one of the ledges to check where the railings were to discover there were none. My boyfriend and I lost sight of a trial ad ended up getting really close to the edge of a cliff until reached flat ground again. That was rather terrifying for someone who hadn’t realized how intense their fear of height was. Looking down I saw nothing but a blur and trees and a long drop. How I wished I'd been hooked up to a fall arrest system at that moment! I actually felt the ground I was standing on and realized It might not have been the best as I was walking on dirt that could easily fall apart under me. The rocks were pretty much rubble that looked like they were in place but not concrete. The only support would be the roots of plants in the ground and my boyfriend if I got a good grip on him which would be jeopardizing his life. Most of these thoughts took less than a few seconds to process before I immediately backed away from the area and away from anywhere similar for the rest of the hike.

Paypal Confirmation Email Upon Registration to Paypal

posted on 27 March 2013 in Business and Finance

Just how fast is the computer? Definitely, and thankfully, faster than my niece. I have a three-year old niece and she is very cute. But she is also bouncy and very fast. We call her Tor, short for tornado. Even at three years old, she still loves to play with wires and sockets, so when she comes we always avoid using the computer. But one time, I made the mistake of opening a Paypal account on the day she was supposed to spend with us. After filling out all the information, I got the Pay Pal Confirmation email. At the same time that I clicked the confirmation link, she pulled the plug. I thought it did not work. You see, it was really just one after the other and I would think the computer would need at least a few seconds to think about my click. But apparently not! When I successfully opened the computer again and checked my email to try to do the confirmation one more time, I got the message that it is already confirmed. Not that I minded confirming it again, but made me think that for important things, always think twice, because once you've made the click there is no turning back: the computer can be so fast and final. Here I am, a paypal member, not even my niece can stop me.

A Unique Gift for People Who Have Everything

posted on 25 March 2013 in Uncategorised

Most of my friends and family have everything they need and want. Even browsing ECP Giftware, I realised most of my friends and family had many of the personalised gifts they had on offer. This makes it difficult to think of something to buy for them. What I like to give is the gift of time. Time is what they can't buy for themselves. I prepare a special meal, complete with dessert and wine, and package it in a lovely basket. Sometimes I make simple dinners and sometimes they are more complex but they are always catered to their specific tastes in food. Often I include music or a movie they haven't seen. It is a gift that is used right away and doesn't contribute clutter in their already full house. I have had so many compliments on this gift. They are so happy to return from a hard days work to find dinner ready and waiting for them along with entertainment. No need to cook dinner or order out. They just kick off their shoes and are ready for a relaxing night in. I have even been known to gather up their kids and take them home with me for a slumber party so the parents can have a kid free night!

All New Parents Should Be Aware of the Just Released Orders

posted on 23 March 2013 in Uncategorised

There are very many things that parents do not know about their children, but mostly is the freedom that they do have as parents that they do not know of. There have been parental rights order duties which have been released recently to protect the parent of today but only few parents know of these orders and that is why they end up missing out a lot on what they should be doing with their children in their younger stages of developing. If you are a parent or you are about to become one, it is better if you concentrate on making sure you know the rights that protect you and those which do not because this will help you know what is expected of you and practice it at all times without feeling pressured or guilty about it. Even parents have rights that should be applied, and if they do not know them then there is no other way in which they can be assisted. As a parent find out what you do not know about parenthood and the rights that you have.

Let The Games Play On And On

posted on 16 March 2013 in Technology

World of Warcraft is a very popular video game.  Many have become addicted to the conflict and struggle their player endures throughout the course of the game.  They gather in large groups online in order to play against people around the world.  They collect figurines, cards and other memorabilia.  For some logging on to play has become a daily activity.  Realizing &ldquoI forgot my WOW password&rdquo can be quite traumatic for the most avid players.  For this reason many implement various password storage and retrieval methods.  There are software programs that can be installed which remember password information for you.  You assign the password a name, i.e. world of warcraft.  Then you are able to pick it from a list and the software fills in the information for you.  If you choose not to go this route it would be wise to write the password information down somewhere accessible.   You may choose to tape this paper to your controller of console.  By doing this you can be sure you never miss a moment of play.

My Ongoing Addiction to the Korean Drama Craze

posted on 12 March 2013 in Uncategorised

Watching Korean dramas has been my favorite activity whenever I think that there is a very interesting story line. I don't have anything else to do especially on a weekend. So, in this case, my sisters would expect me to lounge up inside the room and never see the sunset or anything else that happens within six hours. I get to watch an average of six episodes without any interruptions or whatsoever. I didn't even care when my older sister raised my case on www.whenare.co.uk. I just laughed at her at dinner time when she told my Mom about my addiction to the Korean drama thing. My Mom looked at me and seemed to be worried that all I ever wanted to do was to spend my time looking at the television screen and waiting for my DVD player to scream shout when it can't take the heat of doing its job already. I just laughed at the two of them and told them if they preferred to have do drugs over watching the series that gives me the boost of happiness that I needed.

On Why St. Augustine, Florida Is My Favorite Vacation

posted on 10 March 2013 in Holiday and Travel

I've travelled quite extensively - from a walking holiday in the Peak District to going up the Eiffel Tower in France. However, the best vacation I ever went on was to St. Augustine, Florida with a group of blind teens. I am blind as well. We all went for a goalball tournament. That is a sport made up for the blind, and we were on the Michigan team. There were about 8 of us along with some adult chaperones, and we all had a great time. It was my first time on a plan, and I was a bit nervous, but it was great in the end. We went to the ocean and to some really great shops, and we also ate at a few restaurants together. The tournament was fun too even though we didn't win. My favorite part was the beach and the ocean because it made me feel very alive. I loved everything from the smell to the feeling of the waves breaking over my body. I can never get enough of that. I wasn't afraid, but a lot of the other teens were because of the waves. I ran right in and frollicked around for a long time.

How do I trace a call on an switched off cell phone?

posted on 10 March 2013 in Uncategorised

Call divert does work but it does not remove the first ring on a cell phone so from a caller's side, one hears as if a call has gotten through and that the receiver has shut it down. So to make call divert effective by diverting it to voicemail, I tend to have my phone on an off mode. Thing is, I only do so for particular numbers and not all of them so I would want to know how can I find out who is calling me when I have the phone off? One can connect the switched off phone to a USB cable and to a computer so that it runs but on a dormant mode. The computer is alerted when a call is incoming but since the phone is off, the call will not run the complete cycle but halfway through it from the computer one can see who the caller is. Caller ID is not shown though but the caller numbers so it is imperative that all phone book numbers or the main ones that are important.
